2 Groundhog Day
TBD Spa Tour. 4th Annual Desert Hot Springs “Spa Tour” is a fun and experiential evening of tours of major
mineral water spa facilities in Desert Hot Springs, California – dubbed by travelers “The Healing Mineral Springs
Capital of California”. The event begins with a complementary wine, beer and a “Taste of Desert Hot Springs”
reception at the historic Cabot’s Pueblo Museum, a landmark location homesteaded in the 1920’s by Desert Hot
Springs founding father Cabot Yerxa. Attendees may choose to visit the various Spas by Premium Motor Coach, or

TBD Tour de Palm Springs. Annual charity bicycle event. Since 1999 the Tour has gone from 300 riders to over
7,500 riders, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for local non profit groups. It's now the largest ride of its

TBD Pete Carlson Golf Expo. Annual golf exposition will be held at the College Golf Center driving range in Palm
Desert. For two days only, every major golf equipment manufacturer will be present to offer free golf club demos,
free range balls and expert advice on all of the latest golf equipment in the industry. All equipment will also be
available for purchase with special event pricing these two days only. The event will offer a variety of golf clinics

TBD Palm Springs Modernism Week. Modernism Week promotes public awareness of the desert's mid-century
modern design and architecture. Modernism Week celebrates the post-war design aesthetic and culture through
educational and charitable activities. It includes many of the audience favorites such as the annual architecture
symposium, the Architecture and Design film series in association with DesignOnscreen, lectures, the vintage car
show and other activities that will be held in various venues throughout the City of Palm Springs. There will be
several home tours, two of them organized by MODERNISM WEEK and others organized by neighborhood

TBD Modernism Week, House Tour. Don’t leave town before you have a guided tour of the ultimate icon of the
Palm Springs Modernism architectural period. Built as the "house of tomorrow" by the great Alexanders. See for
yourself the estate that best represents this great era. Recently filmed by the Travel Channel for their "Last
Resorts" show to be aired at the end of February. Further historical interest is that the two great men of Palm

TBD Desert Classic Concours d’Elegance. An annual world-class exhibition of classic cars, featuring more than 150
domestic and foreign automobiles representing the finest examples of automotive excellence. Many of the rarely
seen cars are from private collections and museums. This celebration of the motorsports lifestyle also includes

TBD Jazzoo At The Living Desert. Salute the swingin' styles of jazz masters at The Living Desert's spectacular
Jazzoo concert series. From boogie to ballads to bebop and blues. Scheduled on six Sunday afternoons, Jazzoo
features indoor cabaret style seating, great conversation, and music that transcends time. Concert goers are
welcome to bring their own refreshments. All proceeds support The Living Desert's efforts to save endangered

TBD Retro Martini Party. Palm Springs Preservation Foundation’s Retro Martini Party is one of the traditional
highlights of Modernism Week and always occurs at an exciting, hip venue. This year's popular Retro Martini Party
is at the Leo S. and Ester Maranz House, also known as the “Gull Wing House,” designed by architect Val Powelson

22-24 McCormick's Collector Car Show & Auction. 52nd installment of this popular event featuring rare, vintage,
antique, exotic and sports cars from around the world. Friday is check in day and the auction starts at 3pm with
100 vehicles crossing the block. Friday is also FREE ADMISSION and free food for all registered bidders. Saturday &
Sunday the gates open at 8am with the first car crossing the block at 10am. They will have 225 cars cross the
block on Saturday and another 175 on Sunday. General admission is $10 per day or $15 for both days. They will
have over 500 cars crossing the auction block over the 3 days so there will be something for everyone. Held on
